Unlock the knowledge in your z/OS Logs
Analyze, manage and store SMF data, using only a minimum of mainframe resources
Easy Understanding and Managenaging of SMF Records
By extracting, sorting and merging relevant SMF records into logical job groupings, eSMF provides a simple yet complete way of tracking all z/OS-executed processes. The software identifies every step performed during every production run, then collects this data and consolidates it into a clear, detailed and publishable format. The solution's archiving capabilities make it practical to store years of SMF records.
eSMF's dashboards provide analytics, and show performance trends. The solution provides all the mission-critical information that matters, organised in the format that is most useful to your users.

Efficient CPU Use
Since the bulk of eSMF’s data processing takes place on an open-platform server, the software requires only a minimum of your mainframe’s processing resources. Managing SMF data has never been easier
How eSMF Works
An extractor on the z/OS performs a targeted synthesis of SMF data dumps. This collected information is then transferred to eSMF’s cross-platform server, where the software exploits the information.
Windows users connect directly to eSMF’s server, effectively limiting usage of the z/OS operating system.
For specific personal needs, users can also build their own client-server environment on demand.

Optimized Archiving of SMF Data
eSMF makes it possible–even practical–for your business to keep years of historical data online. Consolidated SMF data is securely stored on the open-platform server in an autonomous “flat” file format to maximize archiving capacity.
Users can choose the level of detail to be included in eSMF’s database. Functional archiving provides summary information extracted from your mainframe SMF log, while technical archiving safeguards more detailed information.
An easily updated, comprehensive indexing system facilitates long-term archiving.
